Abastract Cloud is a computing model that aims at providing reliable services through computing resources on demand, dynamically recon?gured and adjusted according to variable load, aiming at optimal utilization of all existing resources. So, services are delivered transparently to users with high standard QoS, without need to know the details of the execution, as also underlying software or resources used. One of the challenges in cloud computing is to ensure that the applications are executed on reliable and fault tolerant environments they provide to the users. In this talk, I will explain the general ideas and present status, discussing also the challenges and barriers of such issues in Cloud computing.
BiographyProfessor Li is currently a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at the Providence University, Taiwan. He has served in a number of journal editorial boards and guest editorship, also the Editor-in-Chief of IJCSE International Journal of Computational Science and Engineering, published by Inderscience. In addition, he also served many international conference chairmanship positions as steering committee, advisory committee, general and program committee chairs and member of program committees. His research interests include networked computing (Clusters, Grids, P2Ps, Clouds), parallel software design, and performance evaluation and benchmarking. He is a senior member of the IEEE and a Fellow of the IET.
