报告摘要： This talk gives an overview of our R&D activities in the areas of wireless sensor networks and Internet of things, with a focus of different applications of WSN/IoT in aviation industry, public safety and environment monitoring.

Biography：Yang Yang received the BEng and MEng degrees in Radio Engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, P. R. China, in 1996 and 1999, respectively; and the PhD degree in Information Engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2002.He is currently a professor at Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology (SIMIT), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and serving as the Vice Director at Shanghai Research Center for Wireless Communications (WiCO). Prior to that, he served the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at University College London (UCL), United Kingdom, as a Senior Lecturer, the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at Brunel University, United Kingdom, as a Lecturer, and the Department of Information Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong as an Assistant Professor. His general research interests include wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, wireless mesh networks, 4G mobile communication systems, green and cooperative communications.
