报告摘要:

Graphs are fundamental representations of many complex structured data, with a broad spectrum of applications in, e.g., web search, biological networks, social graphs, and infrastructure networks. Over the last decade, tremendous research efforts have been devoted to many fundamental problems in managing and analyzing graph-structured data. In this talk, I will present a series of our recent work in developing scalable similarity search techniques that can efficiently process graph-structured data and accept live updates to sizable graphs. 

 

报告人简介:

Dr Weiren Yu is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Aston University, as well as an Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College London. Before joining Aston, he was a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College, collaborating with NEC Europe for “Big Data Technologies for Smart Water Systems” Project. He got his PhD degree in 2014 from the University of New South Wales, Australia. In 2010-2014, he was a research assistant for Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), and National ICT Australia (NICTA). Weiren’s research spans web search and information retrieval, graph data management, social networks, data mining and scalable analytics, sensors and IoT, stream databases, and spatial and temporal databases. He is interested in developing effective and efficient data analysis techniques for novel data intensive applications. He received three Best Paper Awards, two CiSRA Best Paper Awards, a One of the Best Papers of ICDE 2013, and a Best Student Paper Award. He has served on various editorial boards, and as PC and an active reviewer of journals (e.g., IEEE TKDE, VLDB Journal, IEEE TIFS, ACM TKDD, WWW J, Sensors) and conferences (e.g., SIGIR, SIGMOD, VLDB, ICDE, EDBT, CIKM). He is a Fellow of HEA, and a Member of ACM and IEEE.
