     摘要:
     There has been an argument in recent years about whether future computing should be human-centric or machine-centric. As machine intelligence is still at a level far from human being’s, more human efforts are required to be involved in the computation process. Some people call it human computation, which is more human-centric. However, I like to use the term Human-Aided Machine Intelligence (HAMI), which seems like more machine-centric but its ultimate goal is still for human’s interest. It just needs to get help from human users when machines cannot do well. It is especially workable and enabled in the Internet era, when many netizens can be involved and contribute their help. Hence, it can also be considered a very good and typical application of Web 2.0. In this talk, I will present the idea of Human-Aided Machine Intelligence and typical applications. I believe it will be one of the trends for future computing paradigms.
     Brief Biography:
     Dr. Liu Wenyin has a BEng (1988) and Meng (1992) in computer science from Tsinghua University, Beijing and a DSc (1998) from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. He was a full time researcher at Microsoft Research China and is now an assistant professor in the computer science department at the City University of Hong Kong. He was awarded the IAPR/ICDAR Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2003 and elected to IAPR Fellow in 2010. His research interests include question answering, anti-phishing, graphics recognition, and performance evaluation.
