Abastract: In the twenty-first century’s scientific discovery, business enterprising, and engineering, innovation, information science and technology (network-centric) becomes a critical and important component in any large-system integration which requires systems engineering approach to re-address, redefine and re-engineering problems in industry, energy, defense, security, environment, and so on. Such information-centric systems engineering is currently undergoing a major change to extend from static complex systems to dynamic and intelligence-based system of systems (SoS) or federation of systems (FoS), cyber physical systems (CPS) through so called SoS engineering (SoSE) approach. Performance optimization, robustness, and reliability are addressed to achieve a common goal of a group with independent heterogeneous systems. The successful applications of SoSE’s open architecture and implementation can be found in various applications including military, security, aerospace, space, manufacturing, service industry, environmental systems, and disaster management etc. The common challenge to us is to how to achieving synergy between these independent systems to achieve the desired overall system performance. SoSE and its implementation technology must plays an important role in in today’s network-centric based internet computing, distributed computing such as cloud computing and network of things. This presentation focuses on the basic concept of SoS and SoSE architecture and its application scenarios. It provides an insightful discussion on how to apply the modern systems engineering technology to today’s information technology and network-centric computing crossing all the domains.
Biography:倪军教授主要从事以大规模超算和网络信息为基础的多尺度物理数学建模、计算纳米材料,医学影像信息学、计算医学和计算肿瘤动力学、体系和系统工程等多学科交叉领域。为美国机械工程学会会员,美国电子电工学会会员,美国医学影像信息学学会(SIIM)会员,美国计算机学会会员,美国科学家联盟会员,美国科学前沿协会会员(AAAS)会员;担任《国际计算医学期刊》的主编、《IEEE系统期刊》副主编;Springer学术出版社《超级计算》编委、《计算和理论纳米科学》编委、《计算智能和计算生物信息学》编委,《国际网格和服务计算》编委,《国际计算科学和工程》编委、Bentham科学出版社《信息检索研究国际期刊》编委、《计算机科学和信息技术期刊》编委、《新一代信息技术期刊(FGIT)》编委、《医学图像报告》编委。为50种不同的国际学术期刊评审,133国际会议文献评审,主持80个国际会议,参加187个国际学术会议程序委员会委员为11个国际学术出版社审稿近23本学术书籍。作为第一作者所发表的论文共被SCI检索学术刊物文献引用460多次。编辑学术书籍34本,被邀演讲国际学术报告100多次。
