论坛主题:IT solutions are already deeply integrated into health care and facilitate significant advances in diagnostics and therapy. Health-enabling technologies (HET) aim to enhance the individual quality of life while sustaining the efficiency of health care. Following a brief review of relevant diseases and syndromes as well as of current sensor technology, exemplary applications of HET will be presented. Furthermore, issues of acceptance will be addressed critically with reference to recent survey results. New services demand the integration of HET with current application systems in health care, leading towards sensor-enhanced health information systems.
Biography:Michael Marschollek received his MD and doctoral degrees from the Medical School in Hannover, Germany, in 1999 and has worked as a surgeon and specialist in sports medicine. He received the M.Sc. degree in computer science (2004) and the PhD degree in engineering from the University of Braunschweig – Institute of Technology (2009). Since 2009, he is professor for clinical informatics at the Hannover Medical School, Germany. His recent research interests include: clinical applications of pervasive computing technologies, medical data mining and pattern recognition, sensor-based activity analysis/ accelerometry, sensor-enhanced health information systems and decision support systems for exercise rehabilitation. He is founder and head of the International Medical Information Association’s (IMIA) working group ‘Wearable Sensors in Healthcare’ and has authored resp. co-authored 29 PubMed-/MEDLINE-indexed papers.
