This talk discusses decoupling issues in multi-physics and complex system computation, with focus on the fluid-solid interactions (FSI). A new weak formulation based on the intrinsic Robin interface condition is presented, which enables decoupling the FSI computation with added-mass free stability.
Dr. Mo Mu is Professor of Mathematics at Department of Mathematics, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Dr. Mu received Ph.D in 1987. Before joining HKUST, he was with Department of Computer Science, Purdue University from 1987 to 1993. He was elected the memberhsip of IFIP / WG2.5 in Numerical Software in 1997. Mu's current research interests are in the areas of heterogeneous network computing, distributed and parallel computing, numerical PDE, numerical analysis, numerical software, and scientific simulation.
